Around a Table
Around a Table
âžœSong: ‘Around a table’. Words © Sharon Moughtin
âžœTune: ‘All through the night’ (traditional).

This Building Block is particularly designed for groups that are held during a communion service, either when the children are present throughout, or when the children will be returning to join the rest of the congregation to receive communion.

Around a table Hold arms out, palms up
with God’s gifts to share,
as sisters and brothers
Hold hands, or stretch hands out wide towards each other
we lift up our prayer.
Swing hands to and fro then lift them in prayer
And bread is broken Mime breaking
and wine is poured Mime pouring
and Jesus is with us Hold arms out, palms up
and blesses us all. Mime placing a hand on a row of heads
The Spirit is poured out Palms down above head, moving down
again and again Palms down above head, moving down
and all God’s creation Point around group and beyond
will shout ‘AMEN!’ Cup hands around mouth to shout
